From the age of thirteen, all boys begin to don Tefillin (phylactaries).  Jewish men have been wearing Tefillin on their heads and arms for thousands of years.  It is one of the laws handed down to us from G-d to Moses and has been one of the rituals which has kept the Jewish faith alive until today.
